i appreciate criticism. and i can understand how viewers can get bored. which is fine.
i cant please everyone. and it would be a shame if that was my sole purpose.
i have my reasons. my search. my process.
and i admit. it is stubbornly single-minded. but that is my drive and aim to all this.
all the girls i paint, is one girl. she is in my mind always. and nothing will stray from that.
series poster // audrey kawasaki
work of artist audrey kawasaki presented in a composed series poster.
You know, there’s having a style, and then there’s being completely boring. This girl has style while being a total bore. I would never go out of my way to look at her work in a gallery. If you’ve seen one piece by her, you’ve seen them all. She’s like the Owl City of art.
↑ so true
I don’t completely agree with the above, but some of it is true for most people. I do love Audrey Kawasaki, she’s the best. And I know she follows me so I am reblogging this hoping she sees it, not so that she gets hurt but that she sees it as a constructive critique, to try a few new things. To me and to many others what she does is just fine, but I know there’s plenty of people out there that think like above and maybe we should understand their point and take it like an opportunity to grow :)
I love Audrey Kawasaki’s work!
First of all, she is amazing and I love love her work. Second of all, art is a matter of taste, you can like something or not, just like sushi. But saying that someones work is boring is just rude and uncalled for. This is like telling Degas to replace ballerinas with jocks, or telling Pollock to stop splattering on canvas and starts creating cubes. Constructive criticism is one thing, and this written above is totally childish and I would appreciate it if you would get informed in art department and/or get an art degree, and then play smart. It is ok to have an opinion and you have all the liberty to express it, but when it comes to art and taste, certain rules apply. so if you don’t like it, go and look at something else.
